B.    CONTENT

1.0        INTRODUCTION

Tree Map is one of the tool used in successful classrooms that promote metacognition amongst students. It can help pupils to remember vocabularies better and they are able to use them in their learning according to their pace of learning.


2.0        ISSUE
Difficulties in remembering simple past tense words


3.0        OBJECTIVE
Using a tree map to enhance pupils’ memory of simple past tense words

4.0        STEPS
4.1        Teacher revises verbs learnt in the previous lesson.
4.2        Teacher presents notes on the simple past tense..
4.3         Pupils read the notes and teacher gives explanations.
4.4        Teacher presents a Tree Map and explains the task.
4.5        Pupils complete the Tree Map with the simple past tense words.
4.6        Pupils discuss the answers with the teacher.
4.7        Pupils do gallery walk.
     

5.0        IMPACT
Pupils are able to understand the simple past tense of the regular verbs form.

6.0        CONCLUSION/SUGGESTION
My pupils are able to create a Tree Map of their own according to their creativity. They are able to search and identify words in the simple past tense form. Pupils are able to be independent in their own learning. By using the Tree Map, pupils able to understand the lesson well and they are able to use their prior knowledge in completing their Tree Map.
From the observation in class, I am able to enhance my pupils’ memory and enriched their vocabularies. In my opinion, teachers can use this Tree Map in teaching grammar. The pupils will be more motivated and interested enriching their vocabularies
